Gocheganas, Namibia
Gocheganas is situated approximately one hour from Windhoek Airport by car and suits perfectly for a first night in Namibia, or why not end your journey here? Gocheganas has its own nature reserve that reaches 6000 hectares with 28 different kinds of animals such as giraffe, rhino and gnu. While here, you will stay in on of the luxurious lodges with real walls- not tent canvas- and many of the lodges have lowered bathtubs with a view of the outside landscape as well as showers on the terrace. There are a splendid spa and outdoor pool where you can lie in the sunbeds and watch the giraffes gather by their water hole.

The mighty desert country. From the crusty desert sand dunes to the whipping Atlantic waves on the Skeletoncoast- Namibia has something to offer for every taste. Here you find a great mixture of desert, ocean, mountain and last but not least most of Africa’s wild animals all gathered. We drove out to the magical sand dunes in Sossusvlei.
Elephants and giraffes so close you can almost touch them. An indolent lion that wanders towards the water holes whilst the jeep you are sitting in slowly runs side by side with the flock.
The safari season has just begun and DN Resor’s Eva Hernbäck has been there. For a person who wants to experience Africa’s wildlife in close up, one cannot choose a better place than Namibia, the big sparsely populated desert country with the neighboring South Africa and Zimbabwe and with a long and sandy Atlantic coastline.
