Foreign nationals (citizens from countries not exempted from visa requirements) wishing to visit Namibia (not for employment) should apply for visas before embarking upon their journey to Namibia for the purpose or reasons of visit which may include the following:
• Holiday/tourism/vacation
• Visiting friends or relatives
• Attending meetings
• Exploring business opportunities
• Medical treatment
Upon arrival at the Ports of entry in Namibia, the usual normal Visitor’s Entry Permit (VEP) will be endorsed in their passports with the specific remark.
The maximum of ninety (90) days per year for visit may be taken once off or in part.
Visitors with holiday / tourist / business visas are not allowed to engage in any employment while in the country.
Business persons coming to Namibia to work at their subsidiary companies, for example, give training to local staff, conduct audits of their companies, volunteer work of any kind etc. except Conservation tourism, are required to apply for employment permits/work visas in terms of Section 27 of the Immigration Control Act (Act No. 7 of 1993) regardless of whether they are citizens of countries which are exempted.

VISA APPLICATION OPTIONS
Embassy: the Embassy in Stockholm continues issuing visas for travellers who wish to apply for their visas in advance.
E-Visa: Apply online in advance to streamline your entry process via https://eservices.mhaiss.gov.na.
Visa on Arrival: Available at key entry points like Hosea Kutako International Airport and Walvis Bay International Airport.

VISA REQUIREMENTS

HOLIDAY / TOURIST VISA

* Completed Visa application form - Fill in the application form online, print out and sign
* Original passport with at least three (3) blank pages - Passport must be valid at least six (6) months after departure from Namibia N.B. Passport must be machine-readable.
* Two (2) passport photos in colour - Write your name on the back of the photos
* Flight ticket
* Travel insurance
* Proof of accommodation
* Motivation letter from the travel agency or the applicant when travelling on own.
* Invitation letter signed by Inviter and proof of Namibian legal status of Inviter (if invited)
* Proof of means of sustenance while in Namibia (6 months bank statement)
* Proof of payment

 

DAY VISIT FOR CRUISE LINER PASSANGER
Visitors arriving in Namibia via Walvis Bay and Lüderitz Harbours can obtain a visitor visa specifically for cruise liner passengers disembarking at these ports.

BUSINESS VISA (persons attending business workshops/meetings/conferences or exploring business opportunities)

* Completed Visa application form - Fill in the application form online, print out and sign
* Original passport with at least three (3) blank pages - Passport must be valid at least six (6) months after departure from Namibia N.B. Passport must be machine-readable.
* Two (2) passport photos in color - Write your name on the back of the photos
* Flight ticket
* Travel insurance
* Invitation letter from host company or organisation
* Proof of means of sustenance while in Namibia
* Proof of payment

DIPLOMATIC AND OFFICIAL PASSPORT HOLDERS
Holders of diplomatic passports from the Republic of Germany and the Republic of France are exempt from visa requirements.
Additionally, Holders of diplomatic and official passports from the Republic of Switzerland are also expemt from visa requirements.
Diplomatic and official passport holders from other countries, travelling to Namibia on official duty need to apply for a visa. The following documents need to be provide:

* Original passport with at least three (3) blank pages - Passport must be valid at least six (6) months after departure from Namibia. N.B. Passport must be machine-readable.
* Two (2) passport photos in colour
* Flight ticket
* Travel insurance

There is no visa fee when travelling on official duty.

SINGLE AND MULTIPLE ENTRY VISA
Multiple entry visas will be granted on the basis of reasonable grounds.

VISA FEES FOR HOLIDAY, SHORT-TERM EMPLOYMENT, VISA-ON-ARRIVAL AND VISA FOR CRUISE LINER PASSENGERS

Holiday, short-term emplyment permits and visa-on-arrival
For adult travellers
• N$ 1,200.00 for Africa Union (AU) countries or SEK 700.00 if applied through the Embassy
• N$ 1,600.00 for non-African Union countries or SEK 900.00 if applied through the Embassy

For minor children between the age of 6 and 11
• N$ 600.00 for minors from African Union countries or SEK 350.00 if applied through the Embassy
• N$ 800.00 for minors from non-African Union countries or SEK 450.00 if applied through the Embassy

Exemption for children under the age of 6.
• These children will not be charged for holiday visa or visa-on-arrival.

Day visit fees for cruise liner passengers
A day visit fee N$ 300.00 applies to visitors, specifically cruise line passangers, arriving in Namibia via Walvis Bay and Luderitz Harbours and disembarking at these ports.

PAYMENT
• Visa fee according to the above
• Bank charges: SEK 50 (Foreign payments)
• Registered mailing fee: SEK 200 should be added to the visa fee if the document is to be sent to applicant by registered mail in Sweden
• Registered mailing fee: SEK 250 should be added to the visa fee if the document is to be sent to applicant by registered mail outside Sweden
• If the passport is to be picked up from the Embassy by a courier, the arrangements for the pick-up and the payment are done by the applicant.

If several people are travelling together, payment can be made on one payment order.

PLEASE NOTE
The application fee for visa is not refundable.
Visa will be issued once payment has been made and it is visible on the Embassy Bank account. It usually takes 3 working days.
Incomplete applications will delay the processing of visas.
Passports sent by registered mail MUST be sent to the Embassy postal (Box) address. Please do not address the letter to any staff member!
