The Association of Diplomats in Stockholm (ADS) organised its annual Beer Festival on 8 May 2009 at the British Embassy with the participation of 12 countries (USA, Thailand, Namibia, Mexico, Lithuania, India, Germany, Croatia, Denmark, Canada, Great Britain and Belgium).

Sweden has abolished the traditional, grant-based development co-operation with Namibia. Exchange programmes between the two countries continue, however.

Namibia: Svenska Röda Korset svarar på Katastrofappell.
Svenska Röda Korset bidrar med 1,5 miljoner kronor till översvämningarna i Namibia. Översvämningarna i landet är de värsta på åtminstone 50 år och beräknas vara i upp till tre månader. Antalet drabbade fortsätter att öka och har nu överstigit 350 000 människor, varav 13 000 människor har förlorat sina hem.
